Released last month, the Xperia Acro S is a mid-range waterproof device that boasts of specs like a 1.5 dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and a 12MP camera.  The device runs Android 4.0 ICS but would you be happy stuck with that until Sony deems your device fit for the next update (Jelly Bean)? We thought not and so did XDA member FXP, who has released both CM9 and CM10 ROMs for this specific device.

Users looking to go bleeding edge should take a close look at the CM10 (based on Jelly Bean 4.1) build while conservative Xperia fans should stick to CM9, which is based off Android 4.0, adding features that are normally not available on the stock ICS ROM.  As of now, the CM10 version has no problems at all and could be your daily driver but if you choose to go with CM9, there are a couple of known issues that should be fixed in upcoming releases.  Of course, your device should be rooted before you actually flash CM9 or CM10, and we’ll be sure to put up a guide on how to do exactly that in the very near future.

Head on over to FXP‘s XDA threads for CM9 and CM10 and be sure to thank him for all the effort that he has put into the development!
